This circuit invites you to borrow colonization ways of the mid-19th century. In the county of Lotbinière, Craig Road was built in 1810 (at the time connecting Quebec to Boston by diligence) and Gosford Road in 1843, and to encourage settlement. We are then at the time of the great famine in Ireland and more immigrants will come to settle on the land available to the foothills of the Appalachians, in the company of Scots, Germans and French Canadians. By taking the proposed circuit, you can cross scenic country roads and drive through the municipalities of Saint-Gilles, Saint-Narcisse-de-Beaurivage, Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage, Saint-Sylvestre and Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière. This route, always majestic, deploys all its beauty during the fall season when thousands of maple trees of this area show off their sparkling colors.
